Harrison Sanders reports as the Royals unbeaten run in the league stretches to 8 games

After 7 unbeaten games in the league, Sutton would look to make it 8 with three points against Hinckley LRFC. Hinckley made the journey down from Leicestershire to visit the Domino's Arena with the aim to pick up their first 3 points of the season.

Cameron Stuart made 1 change from the team that triumphed at Worcester City, with Charlie Dowd for Luke McGinnell.

The team today was:

1. Wren, 2. Birch, 3. Lynch, 4. Lima, 5. Beresford, 6. Edmunds, 7. Doyle, 8. Hurley, 9. Parry, 10. Burke, 11. Dowd

4th Min: Suttons First chance came early on with Pedro Lima volleying narrowly wide.

20th Min: After 20 minutes, Sutton were largely in control of the game having many efforts, but all being blocked by the heart of Hinckley’s backline.

23rd Min: Suttons next real effort came through Parry. Beresford won a tackle which fell to Remmie Birch who played Parry, rolled his defender and fired wide.

25th Min: From an Edmunds corner, Dowd managed to scramble a great volley witch nearly nestled in the back of the net, but unfortunately it went wide.

28th Min: It was another volley for Sutton. Edmunds attempted a first-time volley from distance, but just went wide.

35th Min: From another Edmunds corner, Pedro Lima won a header which nearly looped into the back of the net, but was saved by Jake Laban.

37th Min: Hinckley, against the run of play, took the lead. Liam Read was played through past the Sutton defence before squaring the ball to Dom Brennan. He slotted the ball into an empty net.

HT Sutton 0 - 1 Hinckley LRFC

A decent half from Sutton creating plenty of chances and having loads of the ball, but they just couldn’t quite find the goal.

55th Min: Some great work from Jack Lynch as he won the ball deep in the Royals half. He was driving forwards and delivered a perfect weighted ball to Parry. It sent him one-on-one with Jake Laban who denied Parry with his left foot.

61st Min: A cross from Remmie Birch nearly ended up as a goal, with Jake Laban scrambling to get the ball out. He caught Laban by surprise; he was so close to scoring!

62nd Min: Edmunds threatened again straight after, but his effort went straight down the throat of the goalkeeper.

68th Min: Dowd used his skill as he cut inside past the defender, before firing his effort straight into the hands of Laban.

73rd Min: It was finally a goal for Sutton, with Ryan Edmunds delivering a perfect ball 2 games in a row, and finding Parry. He flicked his header onto the body of Burke, causing the ball to trickle into the back of the net. Sutton 1-1 Hinckley LRFC

75th Min: It was dreamland for Sutton as they were turning the game around completely. This time it was Kory Burke’s turn to repay the favour to Parry, similar to the Rushden goal a few weeks ago which saw the birth of this great partnership. It was Burke on the right who delivered a perfect ball to Parry who can’t stop scoring! He slotted the ball through Labans legs to give Sutton the lead. Sutton 2-1.

78th Min: It was so close to 3 for Sutton, with Charlie Dowd dragging his shot just wide.

85th Min: the last 15 minutes was Sutton controlling the game to see out the win.

87th Min: McGinnell On

FT Sutton 2-1 Hinckley LRFC

Another win for Sutton with a solid performance on display. It takes us just shy of the play offs. The attacking threat can’t stop scoring at the minute, with the rest of the team performing equally as well.
