After a fantastic result against newly promoted Loughborough Students on Saturday, The Royals take a trip to Worcester on Tuesday night. This game is the first of a few night games where the boys look to catch up on the games missed due to cup matches.
Worcester City were formed in 1902 and play at Claines Lane. They go by several nicknames such as City, The Blues or The Faithful. They were promoted as champions of the Hellenic League, which gained them entry to the Northern Premier.
They were winners of the Southern League in 1978-79, and won the Southern League Cup in 2001.
Worcester City have had great runs previously in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy. They reached the fourth round in the Cup back in 1959, and made quarter finals in the Trophy in the early 80s.
Sutton last played Worcester City in the Worcestershire Senior Cup final in 2003/04 season. We won 2-1 in the first leg, and drew 3-3 in the away leg, and subsequently won the Trophy that season.
Sutton are presently in 10th spot, just 3 points off the play-off places, where as Worcester are above in 7th , but have played 2 games more.
Worcester have started the season well beating Anstey 4-1 in a season opener, and have had further wins against Racing Club Warwick, Lye Town, Hinckley LRFC and Loughborough Students.
If Sutton can put in the same performance as they did last time away from home, they will be sure to come home with the points.
