Well, our FA cup run came to an abrupt end last time out, but it’s back to the league this weekend, and a chance to kick on from a good victory at home to Coventry Sporting.
Sutton, are currently in 14th spot having only played 2 games in the league and have 3 points.
Rugby, are in 12th position on 4 points, but have played a game more.
Rugby FC are based in Warwickshire and are nicknamed The Valley. They were founded in 1956 and play at Butlin Road. They were promoted into Sutton’s league from the United Counties league, and after they finished finishing 2nd in that league last season.
They play in blue and white but will be wearing red and black at the Domino’s Arena.
They won the FA Vase in 1982-83, and the Birmingham Senior cup in 91-92. More recently, they won the Midland Floodlit cup in the 98-99 season.
Sutton never really recovered from the opening defeat against Rugby last season, and were lucky to hold onto a 4-3 win in this fixture last season after taking their foot off the pedal at 3-0 up.
A big weekend for The Royals, and they will need your support. Hope to see you there.
