Following an up and down start to the season with progression in the FA Cup following a 2-0 victory over Romulus, and a disappointing league opener against Quorn, the Royals entertain Coventry Sphinx for the first league home game.
Coventry Sphinx are based in Coventry and play at Sphinx Drive. Nicknamed The Sphinx, they were formed in 1946 and play in blue and white stripes at home, and yellow and blue stripes away.
They were united Counties League Premier Division South champions in 22/23 season, league cup winners in 2009/10 season and Premier Division champions in 06/07 season.
Last season we got the better over the visitors twice with a 1-0 victory away and a 4 -1 victory at home. Coventry Sphinx went on to secure their step 4 status on the last day of the season with a better goal difference then Cambridge, Rugby and Rushden & Diamonds all finishing on 32 points.
Despite a mixed start Owen Parry has settled in quickly to life at the Domino’s arena netting in both games, with Burke also scoring on his debut giving the Royals a much need boost to the forward line.
