FA Cup action returns as the Royals take a trip to Lye Meadow to take on Ben Davis’ Alvechurch
Sutton have had a couple of memorable seasons, reaching the Second-round proper in their last two attempts
The first was a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Norwich City, who were gifted two late penalties to send them through
The following year we returned to East-Anglia this time to take on National League South side Ipswich who handed us an 8-0 defeat
Ryan Hamilton’s side will be hoping to create some more memorable cup moments by building on their recent promising performances, with new signing Eva Cassidy also hoping to make her debut for the Royals.
“I'm really looking forward to it, the FA Cup's always a good cup to go into every year. We've done particularly well over the last couple of years, so it'll be exciting to go in there, face a team that from a first team point of view we've never played before in Alvechurch
“I know they're on the back of a good season last year so it'll be good to see where they're at and go and show what we can do
“It's an exciting opportunity to take a step back and play a different side, to go and bed in a few new players
“You know, we've made a couple of good signings this week, Eva being one that hopefully we can get in the side this weekend, maybe one or two others we will have a look”
Ben Davis’ Alvechurch will be looking to continue their debut campaign in the FA Cup as well as looking for a second win this season
The first win coming in Church’s opening FA Cup Fixture which saw them comfortably beat Borrowash Victoria 5-1
Church boast a couple of former Royals in that of Georgia Murphy and Abbie Hyland who have 110 Sutton appearances between them
