The Royals make the familiar trip to Loughborough this weekend as we return to league action
Last week Sutton suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Sunday’s opponents, despite a valiant performance from the Royals
It was an even first half with Lightning just edging it, however a strong defensive showing from the Sutton back line saw the first half end goal less
The second half didn’t take long to come alive as Niamh Deasy gave us the lead in the 47th minute
Moments later Poppy Wright would give the home side the leveller following another even spell with the game looking like it was heading to penalties
In the 85th minute substitute Jade Arber would book the opponent’s place in the next round
Sutton’s attention now turns to the league as they look to get a good three points against fourth place Loughborough
Three points for the Royals will prove vital in catching up with the mid-table pack, whereas for the home side three points will cement themselves into the promotion race with a game in hand
Charlie Baxter’s Loughborough side are one of only two teams in the division to still be unbeaten with the other being top of the table Peterborough
Sutton will be hoping to pick up their first points against Loughborough having not picked up any points in their last four meetings with Lightning
Niamh Deasy will be hoping to add a third goal in three games with the first two coming in the games against Loughborough and Worcester
Make sure to join the Royals and show your support this Sunday!
