Club President Bill Worship has kindly purchased a new portable defibrillator for the club!

Sutton Coldfield Town FC has always considered the welfare of players, spectators and all site users to be paramount. There have been a lot of high profile incidents recently where players and spectators have suffered a sudden heart problem during a game and required emergency medical treatment.

In June, in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Wylde Green, an open day was held at the club with the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young ( CRY ) where around 120 young people had their heart functions tested with on hand specialists to discuss any problems found. The club will be holding several of these over the next few years to screen as many young people as possible. The next one is scheduled for June 2025.

We have had a defibrillator near to the pitch for several years. A few months ago, another one was installed on the wall at the entrance to the clubhouse.

A week ago thanks to the generosity of President Bill Worship, the club was able to purchase a third defibrillator. This one is a portable one which will be at pitchside for 1st team games and will also travel to away games with the teams.

The defibrillator purchased is a G5 and which offers fully automatic shock delivery, real-time CPR guidance, and a rugged design built for the toughest environments. With automatic daily self-tests, pediatric adaptability, and an 8-year warranty, the G5 ensures you’re always rescue-ready, no matter the situation.
