Another season is just around the corner and with yet another one being cancelled let’s hope this new season will be a full one.

We find ourselves in another league, namely the Northern Premier League Midlands Division, which will see us pitch ourselves against old foes such as Ilkeston, Chasetown, Corby and Coleshill.

Our first league game of the season is at home against Soham Town Rangers, a team we last played in 2009/10 season winning 6-0 in the same fixture. They are a club based in Soham, Cambridgeshire and are nicknamed The Greens; they were formed in 1947 and have been transferred from the Isthmian League for this coming season.

Our first away fixture comes on the 17th August at Loughborough Dynamo. Again, having last played them in 2019/20 and drew 4-4 in this fixture, we can only hope the game will be as entertaining this time round. Loughborough are based in Leicestershire, nicknamed the Moes and were formed in 1955.

The Summer Bank Holiday on 30th August brings us a visit from local rivals Coleshill Town who we last played in 18/19 season and lost the fixture 0-1. Nicknamed the Colemen or the Colts they were formed in 1894 Sutton will be hoping for a more positive result this time round.

The Christmas period is an interesting one. It sees us face fellow locals Halesowen on Boxing Day at the Central ground. Having played them last year in a friendly only to lose 1-2 at home, we will have higher expectations this season for sure. Halesowen, who were formed in 1873 are nicknamed the Yeltz.

Following on from this we have a short trip to Coleshill Town to start the New Year off.

The Easter weekend gives us a home tie against Histon on the Saturday, and a local fixture away to Halesowen on the Bank Holiday Monday.

It will be our first meeting with Histon who are based in Impington, Cambridge. They were founded in 1904 and are nicknamed The Stutes, which originates from the club’s previous name, Histon Institute.

Sutton’s last away game of the season is against Halesowen Town. It is followed by our last home game of the season against Yaxley who we last played in the FA Trophy, knocking them out 2-1 in 2019.

Our other teams for the 2021/22 season will be Belper Town, Bedworth United, Cambridge City, Carlton Town, Daventry Town, Shepshed Dynamo, Spalding United, Sporting Khalsa, Stamford and Wisbech Town.

Our recent results against these teams are as follows:

Cup games to take note of are as follows.

Our first preliminary FA Cup round will be played on the 21st August away to locals Halesowen Town who we lost 2-0 to earlier this year. It will be a tough test that’s for sure, with a lot at stake for both clubs.

Our first FA Trophy preliminary round will be away against Lincoln United on the 9th October. A team we beat 2-1 away in the 19/20 season.

New players we welcome to the Club are Jack Burgess, Vinnie Dwyer, Dalmar Morrison, Rikardo Reid, Emem Jones, Harry Eden and of course the return of Desean Martin. We wish you all good luck for the coming season, and hope you have a successful time with the club.

It promises to be a great season with some new adventures for the Royals, The Ultras and all supporters, along with familiar faces from recent years.

Let’s all get behind the team and have a great turnout for the first game of the season.

We hope you can join us on our journey and thank you for your continued support.
