The U21s team looks set to be a competitive side again this season.
As we move into our second year it becomes increasingly difficult to encourage the older lads to stay patient for first team opportunity, which as last season will surely come their way. Its up to them to impress Toothy when it does!
SCTFC U21 Jahmel Taylor has gone out on loan to Tividale, and by all reports is doing well. Left midfielder Dan Baxter has moved on to play first team football with Midland League Division 2 side Rostance Edwards and I've noticed they are 2nd in the league with Dan soring 3 in 4 games.
We have captain James Beresford knocking at the door and I'm sure 2-3 more lads will emerge this season to push the first team lads harder.
We need to assist more of these lads on a path to first team football or out on loan to gain the necessary experience for the higher level of football played by our first team lads.
With that said it was important we replenished the squad, and we have been very fortunate with younger players coming through to join us.
James 'Sonny' Jobson and Callum Coyle are both already great centre midfield prospects, along with Remeao Hutton proving to be a very exciting and skilful winger. Jackson Ndundula an experienced forward and Jason Monaghan centre half complete the new squad members.
Further to this we welcome Tom Cartmill who has joined myself and Gary to help out with coaching and match days.
In closing I would love to see more faces at the ground watching and encouraging the lads especially on a day when we are at home with the 1st XI....you could fill the time gap with a visit to the breakfast club!
All the very best & Up the Royals, Dave.
